You're Four Months Old!

Baby Girl,

I know I say this every month when I do this type of blog but I can't believe it is time to write about you being another month old!  It makes me smile to see all the things you are able to do, but sad to see my baby growing up so fast!  Where has all the time gone?  It seems like just yesterday that your daddy and I brought you home from the hospital.

This month you have changed so much!!  While we didn't do anything really great and wonderful to blog about this month you have really grown up.

Here are a few pictures from this month....

This month you had your first taste of something besides formula.....rice cereal.  You were not a fan at first, but you have grown to tolerate it.  At the very end of the month (we were told to wait until you were five months, but I figured a few days weren't going to do any harm) we gave you your first taste of real food.  We decided to go with bananas...you LOVED them!!  You will grunt for more if we don't feed you fast enough.

We have spent a lot of time at Daddy's ballgames this month because it has been so pretty.  You really enjoy being outside and his girls love having you there.  We had to buy you a new hat so your head wouldn't burn in the sun.

You have also started to really enjoy the toy Santa brought you for Christmas.  We put you in it several times a day so you can play.  You even share your toy with MH.

Here are a few things about you this month....

* At your doctor's appointment you weighed 13.3 pounds.
* You are 25 inches long.
* You wear a size 0-3 month clothes, but you do have a lot of 6 month bubble outfits that you are able to wear.
* You got your first pair of sandals (size 0 - but they are too big).
* You sleep in your pack n play beside Mommy.  You sleep through the night, but in the morning you enjoy sleeping in the bed for a couple hours.
* A few times this month you had some rough sleep nights....one night you even slept in the bed all night.
* You wear a size 2 diaper.
* You drink 6 oz. bottles 4 times a day.  Sometimes at night you get 7 oz.
* You are very long and we have had a hard time finding you pajamas to wear.
* You love Patty Cake, You Are My Sunshine, and This Little Light of Mine.
* You are starting to play with toys.  We went to Toys R Us one day to buy a new toy and you wouldn't let me put these silly bongo drums down.
* You have very good hand eye coordination.
* You are drooling and chewing like CRAZY, but we haven't seen a tooth yet (the doctor says it will be another couple of months).
* I left you for the first time this month :(
* You still love to take a bath and you are still taking baths in your infant tub in the sink.
* You are babbling and giggling like crazy!
* You discovered your feet for the first time this month.
* You like to watch TV, especially Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Doc McStuffins.
* You still don't like tummy time.
* You are trying to roll over.  You are able to get to your side.

I know there is so much I am not remembering.  It seems like you are changing every day.   I love to cuddle with you at night.  You don't love to be rocked anymore, but I can lay you next to me in the bed and you are sound asleep within minutes.  I have also enjoyed watching you laugh with your daddy.  Everyone looks at you and says, "That is Brian Wakefield in pink and a hair bow. Whitney, were you even there?"  I guess it is ok that you look like your daddy because you are absolutely beautiful!  You love when people tell you you are a pretty girl.  You just smile and laugh.

I love every moment of the day I get to spend with you and hate to see each day come to an end. You make me smile constantly and amaze me with all your new discoveries.  I look forward to spending each day with you.  I don't know what either one of us are going to do when I go back to work :(.

Mommy

Easter

Baby Girl,

Just like Santa, the Easter Bunny came to visit our house for the first time.  Infact, the Easter Bunny visited three different houses for you.

We woke up Easter morning to get ready to go to church with your daddy's family.  After we got ready, Mommy and Daddy were very excited to see if the Easter Bunny traveled to our house.  Lucky for you, he did!! Although you had no clue what was going on we got some cute pictures of you by your Easter Basket.

After the excitement of your Easter basket, we were on our way.  We went to Uncle Craig and Aunt Jamie's church.  We took your dress off before we left because you are in this habit of pooping in the car.  This proceeds to get all over everything, so we have just learned not to dress you until we get to our destination.  When we got to church you did pretty good the first half.  You enjoyed seeing everyone and of course they enjoyed seeing you.  After the first half of church you got a little fussy and had some diaper issues.  Needless to say we spent the second half of the church service in the hallway.  After church we went to Aunt Jamie and Uncle Craig's house to eat lunch and take part in an Easter egg hunt.  You even found a couple of eggs!!!  After the egg hunt Nanny and PaPaw brought you the basket the Easter Bunny delivered to their house for you.

After the egg hunt we headed home to go to MiMi and Ry's house.  The Easter bunny visited you here too!!  We had dinner with MiMi and Ry and after a very long day we were headed back home.  I think your first Easter was a hit!

A Trip To The Zoo

Baby Girl,

During our good friends Christen and Mary Hyatt's Spring Break we decided it would be fun to have a girl's night.  Since your daddy was not on Spring Break yet and Ben couldn't take time off work, we thought it shouldn't stop the four of us from having a good time.  Ben was very sweet and allowed us to use his "points" to spend a night away from home.  Christen knew Mary Hyatt would enjoy going to the zoo, so instead of staying in their hometown we decided to head out to Nashville.  The zoo there was amazing.  While you couldn't enjoy it, it made me excited to take you back when you get a little older.  Mary Hyatt had a blast and I look forward to sharing this experience with you again.

We got a semi-early start and went straight to the zoo when we got to Nashville.  On the car ride Christen turned around and caught this sweet moment on camera.  MaryHyatt was holding your hand while you slept.  Such a sweet friend.

You were stylin' and profilin' in your hat!  Maybe a little over the top, but it matched and it one of the only hats we have that actually fit your head and doesn't fall into your eyes.

One of the first exhibits we stopped (after eating of course) was the merecats.  It was a really cool exhibit because you could crawl into a small space and look up like you were in there with them.

We were off to explore other animals.  Mary Hyatt had a blast and stopped to look at all the animals.  She was most excited about getting to the elephants and giraffes.  But we were a long way from there!

We tried to get a semi-group picture (minus Christen) but Mary Hyatt was much more interested in the cougar than posing for our picture!  I have to admit it was pretty cool.

When we finally got to the elephants and giraffes Mary Hyatt was worn out!

Luckily you were awake and we got some cute pictures!

You were awake for most of the trip!  I know you didn't understand any of it, but you seemed to enjoy being outside and riding in your stroller.  Don't worry....we didn't leave the elephants and giraffes until Mary Hyatt woke up.

After the zoo we were worn out!! We went to get set up in our hotel and take a nap.  After we woke up we decided to head to the Opry Mills Mall to get some dinner and enjoy a place where we could walk around.  Mary Hyatt loved the Rainforest Cafe almost as much as she enjoyed the zoo.  You seemed to like the thunderstorm every thirty minutes.  Mary Hyatt had to ride the horse (carousel) and you loved to watch it go round and round.

The next morning we decided to do a little shopping before heading home.  Of course you girls needed a few items for your closet!  While Mommy was getting dressed, Christen was suppose to be watching you and Mary Hyatt.  When she turned around this is what she saw....

After she realized Mary Hyatt wasn't smothering you, she snapped this picture.  Mary Hyatt absolutely loves you!! She constantly checks on you.  Throughout the trip, if she had her paci, she felt like you needed yours.  If she didn't want hers, she would pull yours out of your mouth.  She still calls you baby and wants to "help" all the time!!  We love Mary Hyatt and I can't wait until the two of you are old enough to actually play together.  I hope this is just the first of many girl trips we will take together!!

Although we missed your daddy (this was your first time away from him for a night), it was nice to get away!  It is also nice to have sweet friends to get away with!  Thanks Christen and Mary Hyatt for including us on your Spring Break adventures.

Love,
Mommy

You're Three Months Old!

Baby Girl,

Boy time is flying!!  I can't believe you are three months old!  I feel like just yesterday you were born...where is my baby going?  You have gained such a personality this month.

This month we started a new routine at night.  Every night we have started reading you a book and saying a prayer before laying you down to sleep.  This is such a sweet time with you and we look forward to it each night.  We turn off the TV or stop everything we are doing to enjoy this moment with you.  I hope it is something we can continue for many years to come.  You really enjoy when your Daddy read Barnyard Dance.  You think he is very silly.  After your story we put your hands together and all three of us (after we taught it to you're Daddy) say...

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take

You are now sleeping in your pack-n-play next to our bed.  This was a wonderful transition.  We decided that since you were starting to move a little in your sleep it was time to take you out of your Nap Nanny.  We were afraid that you wouldn't do well, but we should have known you would.  You pretty much slept through the night from the first night.  If you wake up we just put you in the Nap Nanny back in the bed with us and don't fight with you about it.

Here are a few other things to know about you this month....
* You weigh 11 lbs. 10 oz.
* You wear a size 2 diaper
* You wear 0-3 month clothing, but if it is a one piece you have just about out grown it in length (I am afraid this is going to be a problem for you).  We have put you in some 6 month bubbles on warmer days.
* You drink 6 oz about 4-5 times a day, just depending.
* You sleep through the night in your pack-n-play.
* You still love you're play mat with the piano and your exer-saucer with the piano beneath your feet
* You are a cuddle bug.  At night you are typically a Mommy's girl, but the rest of the time you will typically go to anyone
* You think your Daddy is funny
* You still love bath time
* You really giggled for the first time this month.  Your daddy can really get you going most of the time
* You have started hating riding in the car when it is dark.  This has made for some very long car rides home.
* You love to watch TV.  You watch Mikey Mouse Clubhouse and Doc McStuffins while Mommy is getting dressed each day.
* You do not like tummy time, but you are starting to hold your head up when we put you on your tummy.  You will stay for a little longer now, but you get frustrated very easily.
* You love any toy that lights up or has a mirror (you love to look at yourself).

You are such a bundle of joy and the happiest baby ever ( I am not just saying that because I am your mommy).  You hardly ever cry and you are perfectly content with anyone as long as they are holding you.  You are such a blessing in Mommy and Daddy's lives and I can't remember what life was like before you.  You have made our family complete.

Love,
Mommy
