Well, when Memorial Weekend gets here, in this household it also means school is out and summer is here! This Memorial Weekend we celebrated that in a big way. I feel like we never stopped!! You had so many firsts this weekend.
We started the weekend with our sweet friends Ben, Christen, and Mary Hyatt. While Daddy and Ben went to play golf, Christen and I thought it would be fun to let you and MH go swimming in their baby pool. The water was so cold, but you were a trooper. Unfortunately you weren't able to really do anything but sit there. The good news, Mary Hyatt is very entertaining so there wasn't a boring moment!! Mary Hyatt is so sweet and tried so hard to share her toys and hold you in the baby pool so you could join in the fun with her. She doesn't quite understand why you aren't big enough to play with her yet. It won't be long though....
Here you are...all ready to head to the pool!
These are the moments that you were happy and the cold water wasn't bothering you! Christen and I then decided that since the water was so cold and had become slightly dirty from getting in and out that it was time both of our girls had a bath and some dinner! So off we went to continue our water fun in the bath tub. At this point you are still in your infant bathtub at home. I wasn't sure how this was going to work out, but of course we found a solution. Christen keeps all of Mary Hyatt's toys in a plastic basket in their bathtub. Luckily this basket was just big enough for you to sit in so you could "play" with Mary Hyatt. Mary Hyatt continued to love on you and play with you. She shared her toys and she even tried to read you a book.
Look at those sweet girl smiles!!
Bath time is much more fun with a friend to play with.
I think you girls are best friends already! This is a good thing, because we spend a lot of time with them and plan to continue to spend a lot of time together in the future.
After our bath we found something to feed ya'll (which we quickly decided we had done this backwards). Once your tummy was full you were ready for a nap. It had been a long day because we had gotten up early to go to one of Daddy's friends wedding before we joined Christen and Ben for some fun. Mary Hyatt watched some TV while we waited for the daddies to come home. Finally the daddies were home, the mommies and Mary Hyatt were fed, and it was time for our little family to pack up and head back home. It had been an extremely long day and we were EXHAUSTED!! Such a fun day with sweet friends and a great start to a long weekend. I enjoy every minute spent with you two sweet girls!! I can't believe you are almost 6 months and Mary Hyatt is almost 2. Where is the time going?
Love,
Mommy
